| From the Vineyard...
Like most local agricultural endeavors, 2009 was a year to forget
for most vineyards in the area. There was way too much rain
and way too little sunshine. The crop was small and the fruit
did not mature very well. Nevertheless, the white wines (both
dry and sweet) should be good. The red wines, however, will
probably be lacking in body. This past year we did put in an
experimental planting of a relatively new red hybrid (from
Minnesota) named Marquette. This variety has received some
significant attention in the Midwest and East in recent years.
The wine is good.

| From the Cellar...
All of our traditional wines are currently available. The dry
reds and the sweeter whites continue to be the most popular items in
the tasting room. Incidentally, they both go very nicely with
most chocolates. In 2009 we entered one competition, sponsored
by the Hudson Valley Wine & Grape Association. We entered 5
wines and we received 4 awards; hence, we must be doing something
right.
